Send Email Task in workflow

Hi,

I am getting the following error when I run the send mail cmd from commend prompt:

CMD Is:

\Interwoven\TeamSite\iw-perl\bin>iwperl.exe \Interwoven\TeamSite\bin\iwsend
mail.ipl "Domian\ID" 2899 2909

Failure to send Email: A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond.

Can you please tell me is this becaues of connetion ?

And one more thing I have noticed its taking id@abc.com as to and from email id but as per my thinking itshould be the proper mail not his id@abc.com right?

You need to make sure you have the mailsever correctly defined in IWHOME/etc/iw.cfg (for Windows; on Unix it's just /etc/iw.cfg) - and that the mailserver is willing to accept requests from the TeamSite server (talk to your mail / systems administrators regarding that).

There are ways of getting the debugging output from the attempted connection - if you look at the comments in the script it tells you how to do so.

Thanks for your reply.

I have the correct smtp server name is iw.cfg.

I have tried pinging the mail server from the TS server by running the telnet cmd on port 80. it says " could not open the connection to the host.... connection failed".

Port 80 is not the correct port for mail - port 25 is the default SMTP port. I suggest you spend some time with the local system administrators to help you figure out why your email is not going through.

I have tried with both port but it did not work for me. I have updated the same to the concern person from mail admin team.
