Media Bin 8.1 installation issues

Hello,

We have recently installed MB 8.1 on a windows 2012 datacenter Server. All went smoothly during the installation but when I tried to run the VB scripts that are part of the installation, I ran into issues. The scripts never run success fully and I get an error message saying "Opening a connection to the server failed"

We have provided the correct credentials and the server name.

Can someone help me figure out this issue and provide a solution for this.

The server where we have installed media bin is not in a Domain, is this a show stopper?

Please let me know your suggestions and share your media bin installation experience

Are you talking about CreateVMBCollections.vbs & CreateVMBActions.vbs scripts ?

Hope you have updated the server name/domain/credentials inside the scripts. Since the .vbs scripts asks for a Domain, please try providing the hostname itself as the Domain name.

Open the Command Prompt (Run As Administrator), and change directories to: c:\Windows\sysWOW64 Then type cscript "E:\MediaBin Server\VBScripts\createvmbcollections.vbs" and press [Enter].

Normally, this should work.

Can you telnet to the port 32456 and check if its running ? If the port is not listening, the MediaBin Asset Server module was not installed correctly.

Does the user you used to install has Administrator access on the server ?

Is MB up and running ? It should be running even without the script execution if everything was properly installed. Check MBP.log....
