Getting " Content too large to save. Please reduce the size and try again. " message

Version - TeamSite 6.7.2

When trying to save a DCR, I am getting an alert message that says "Content too large to save. Please reduce the size and try again." I am trying to insert a data which is approx 1.71MB in visual format editor box.

 

I tried to fix by changing, VFE default "maxContentSize" to 0, in the File "ewebeditprodefaults.js"

 

However, the same error message pops-up. Does any service require restart after the change in "ewebeditprodefaults.js"?

Any help on how to fix this will be much appreciated.

Let me guess - you're copying and pasting content from a Word doc - yes?

And this doc has a lot of formatting in it - yes?

 

If that's the case - chances are - the formatting was done poorly in the Word doc which significantly bloats the size of the content; and then your choices are:

1. Remove all formatting, copy / paste, re-format within the VFE textarea
2. Fix all formatting in the Word doc by using actual paragraph styles instead of constantly tweaking the formatting of paragraphs that are all defined as "Normal"

If your content is just too large - there's not much you can do about it without breaking it up into multiple textareas by using a replicant - but that changes the DCT and any associated PT or DD config file associated with the DCT as well as any pre-existing DCRs.
