Can we use IIS server as Web Application server as LiveSite runtime environment?

Hi All,

I am new to Livesite,currently we are using TeamSite7.2.1 without any livesite/sitepublisher modules.

We are planning to create sites by and publish by using livesite/sitepublisher to our target server running on IIS server.

Is it possible to use IIS server as Web Application server for livesite runtime environment by installing java and OD receiver.

(OR)

Is it possible to install TeamSite with .net environment and creating components as Livesite development setup and also livesite runtime with .net environment?

Can you please let me know your ideas or best solution?

Hi Chandra,

Interwoven provides support of .Net also. So, you can use IIS as your preview and runtime environment.

You can refer .NET Section in installing runtime guide for configuring TS with .NET

If you are using .NET then its better you can configure your preview and runtime with IIS.

If we use TS721 with Jboss as application container and if we develop componenets using java and publish to runtime with IIS and java installed,those components will work?

Because our TeamSite server is used for both java based applications and .net based applications.

Can you please confirm this?

Hi Chandra,

Yes it will work. As far as i remember it worked in our case.

But if you face any issue please attach the error you are getting.

By "develop componenets using java" do mean components using externals developed in java or simple xsl component.

JBoss is used for TS UI and you can configure TS preview on IIS.

Remember one thing while creating your site set "Display Services application type" to "Java Application" or ".NET Application" accordingly in default.site file.

Hi Chandra,

I doubt on that rather you can create external in dotnet and use that.

Try installing IIS for .NET application and Tomcat for Java application and drive your site accordingly.

Also, you can trying including some add-ons in IIS. I never tried this though.

IIS doesn't run Java webapps natively, and you probably don't want to be doing that through a plugin for any production scenario.

Either write your externals in .NET, or use a Java application container on your runtime. You can still front it with IIS as your web server, but you'll need a separate service to run the LSDS app if your externals are in Java.
