iwtrace Bus Errors and Segmentation Faults

I am wondering if any of you has experienced this issues, or something similiar to it.

I am currently running Teamsite 6.7.2 on Solaris 10. In the iwtrace.log file I am finding I am getting "Bus Error" or "Segmentation Fault" writen to the iwtrace.log file and that Teamsite has stopped. There is no core dump, no significant messages from any other logs.

Has anyone seen this before and what was the cause of it?

Is this a new installation, or an old installation that was stable and now, all of a sudden, seems to be expeiencing these problems?

Is this Solaris 10, or Solaris 10 x86?

(there are, I believe, different installers for each - are you sure you installed the right version for the OS/platform?)

The lack of core dumps could be due to limit settings - if you type limit at a shell prompt (as root or via sudo) - what do you see?

Its Solaris 10 and 6.7.2 has been running stable on it for 6 years with no issues.

Here is the limit output -

core file size (blocks, -c) unlimited
data seg size (kbytes, -d) unlimited
file size (blocks, -f) unlimited
open files (-n) 500000
pipe size (512 bytes, -p) 10
stack size (kbytes, -s) 8192
cpu time (seconds, -t) unlimited
max user processes (-u) 29995
virtual memory (kbytes, -v) unlimited

Hmm - core dumps should be getting dropped, perhaps you're not looking in the correct location for them?

Unfortunately, you're using a version of the product that is no longer officially supported - so contacting HP Support for assistance (which would be my first thought) is likely to yield not much more than "you should upgrade".

Can you think of anything that may have changed on the system recently? An OS patch? a Java patch? Something like that might be the source of the issue. Though if it is, it's still unclear what you can do about it unless you can convince your powers-that-be to remove a patch that under other circumstances you might not want to remove...

No new patches for a long time and no significant changes either.

HP Support has advised upgrade.

There was only one core dump on system but it is years old and not related to Interwoven products.

I was wondering if anybody else experienced this and what cause was eventually diagnosed. It seems that "Bus Error" and "Segmentation Fault" could mean a multitude of things.
