Loading CSS file in Edit Mode

i have modified existing fixed layout XSLT file to load an external CSS file in all the pages of all the sites. This CSS loads perfectly fine when i preview the page but when the page is in 'Edit' mode, it doeant load any styles and page really looks ugly. Now my question is

Is there a way through which i can load this style sheet even in Edit mode?

I dont have the option of loading the CSS file through 'default.site' and i dont want to load it through javascript as well.

Please let me know what are my options. TIA

I was about to look into this the other day as well.

As far as I can tell, there are two fixed-layout.page.xsl for preview and edit window (though I haven't yet confirmed this).

The locations are:

\local\config\lib\content_center\livesite_customer_src\web\WEB-INF\classes\com\interwoven\xsl\runtime\fixed-layout.page.xsl
\local\config\lib\content_center\livesite_customer_src\preview\WEB-INF\classes\com\interwoven\xsl\runtime\fixed-layout.page.xsl

As I said, I've not yet gotten around to working out exactly what the differences between them are, but we've been updating both files and both edit and preview work the same way.

i think location is different in 7.2.1. I did not change the default fixed-layout.page.xsl file rather created a new cutom file and and then registered it through pagetype-config.xml file. 2 fixed layout files are getting created in application container (one under iw-preview.war and one under iw-cc.war) after rebuilding the app. So that ways i have 2 fixed layout files but it is rendering only one XSL file (iw-preview.war) and not the other.

Any clues?

Can you confirm what exactly you have changed in your fixed layout and are you able to see the changes in the actual HTML of Edit mode (through Firebug or some other tool) ?

Also one more thing i realized that fixed layout xsl file attaches the css in head tag but the same css is not present at head level, it is inside a div. So it has to be working differently in Edit mode;.
