Hi,
trying to understand the difference in Role beetween the 2 version.

EX: user1 as role --> author-editor-reviewer

So if I understand it right with version 7.x.x it add all the role together.

With Version 6.7.1 which role will it take?

Flex roles exist only for UID/Branch permutations.

Outside of the Branch User itself does not have (play?) any role whatever. It's like an actor outside of the Stage.
Branch is your theater. You can play three Roles in one of them, only one Role in another and have no Roles in third.
As far as I know the approach is identical in 6.7.x and 7.x

Assuming you meant to refer to me - it's "ghoti" not "gotti" - and as I didn't post anything in this thread, I'm not sure why you'd be complaining about something you believe I said.

That being said - why do you think that 6.7.1 only allows one role to be active for a user in a given branch if they have multiple roles assigned to them in that branch? To the best of my knowledge, Flexroles, since it was provided, always gives the accumulated rights of all the roles associated with the user.

Why would you want to have more than one role associated with a user on a branch? Many reasons. Example: [indent]You want to be able to query all the users in role Reviewer on the branch for a select list in a workflow instantiation form - even though some of those users may also be able to do more than a Reviewer role allows.[/indent]If you were only associated with the Editor (or even Master) role on that branch, your name would not be listed among those users who have the role 'Reviewer' - because you don't have that role - even though you might be able to do everything a Reviewer can do (plus more).
