live site displaying as XML in browser

I have configured livesite with LSCS. On browsing the page I can see the page xml just printing on the browser window.

Any one has any idea what could be the possible issue?

Are you accessing the page via Tomcat? I think the default port is 1776 from memory (though it'll be whatever you configured it to be).

It sounds like LiveSite Display Services (LSDS) (via Tomcat) isn't processing the page. I understand LSCS allows you to get different access to the files and their properties (I've not used it myself, though) so perhaps you're accessing via the wrong service - LSCS rather than LSDS?

To add to this.. it's common to have a web server sit in front of the servlet container, for various reasons. What might have happened here is you tried pointing your docroot at the runtime root of LiveSite, which is fine for static resources* but incorrect for .page rendering. You'll want to forward .page requests to your runtime URL on whichever port it's listening (1776 by default). For this, use mod_proxy (Apache) or an appropriate ISAPI filter (IIS).

* there are security considerations in production environments, to make sure you're not giving outsiders access to read things like your .page source, the WEB-INF folder, and the templatedata folder.
