Plc error with Tag files(Meta Data Task)

Hello All,

When am trying to deploy .page files using plc, the tag files is throwing this error

There was a problem with the metadata capture configuration. Merging rulesets for these files failed: [Ljava.lang.String;@a35a50.

But if am tring to deploy xml or html files tag files working.

Failure in the metadat is affecting the prod deploy.

Help me on this

Means you have a misconfiguration in your TagUI, for a specific subset of tagging rules that happens to match page files. Review your metadata-rules.cfg. You probably don't want multiple matches, but if you do, make sure that those definitions can be merged (same root container, both or neither use tabs, etc).

Just had this error came up. The tagging screen of the PLC WF does not show, but shows a page with the mentioned error about can't merge containers. Was there any solution found for this error?

Pretty sure the solution is the one I gave above. Either your metadata capture templates have changed recently, or you just found a combination of attached files where the rulesets conflict in some way.

I reset the metadaa-rules.cfg to the ootb version and the datacapture.cfg to ootb version also. Still getting same error...

Try submitting different file types, one at a time, to see if there's a particular rule that fails. Then try submitting types in certain combinations. You have to narrow down the particular ruleset that doesn't work.

Also look for logs, and check firebug for JS exceptions that may be misrepresented by the UI's error message.

I tried all different files from the branch even tried creating a new file and still had the same error. I had to comment out the metatagger section in iw.cfg and did an iwreset -a to get the error to go away.

Sounds like a MetaTagger issue rather than set metadata.

If you use File-> Tag do you get the same error ?

Yes, I get the same error. I believe you are right that it is a Metatagger error rather than a metadata error.

Going to:
http://mt_server:9080/civiewer/
and clicking on the start brings up this error:

XML4C Exception:The primary document entity could not be opened. Id={null}

Sounds like a MetaTagger issue rather than set metadata.

If you use File-> Tag do you get the same error ?
