Accessing TS with master access

After adding myself to tsusers.xml as master as explained earlier in the post, I should get master access to UI.

So when I check my user profile from TS CCPro UI, by clicking on the user, check box next to Master, where description reads "This user is a TeamSite Master.", shall be checked.

But when I am looking at my user profile, Master checkbox is not checked. That means I dont get master access. I can not create branch OR add users to TeamSite.

I checked my role on server and I see that I have master access (May be CLT is reading from tsusers.xml). Output of cmd line is as follows

"D:\Interwoven\TeamSite\bin>iwuseradm all-roles-of-user D2-BFG\ANJAN3
master
workflowUser"

But still I dont get to do all master activities.

How can I get to do master level activities ?

Master is not a role like any other, so you'd be better off validating using

iwuseradm master D2-BFG\AJAN3

What operations are you trying to do that you can't?

I am trying to create branch and add new user to TeamSite. I am not getting these options.

There may be more options, which I dont know at this time. To CLT query , I am getting reply as "true". Does adding user to tsusers.xml go through proper process of providing all rights for that role ? OR does it just provide access to CLTs, but not to UI ? When user is added to TeamSite fro UI, does it run iwadduser on backend ?

Does following sequence work, when I dont have access to TeamSite, but access to WS8

1) Add myself to tsusers.xml as master as D2-BFG\anjan3 (This gives access to CLTs, but does not grant master privileges to UI)

2) Add myself again by Run "iwadduser -V -user D2-BFG\anjan3 -roles master,admin" (Will this grant master access to UI)

By the way, iwadduser is explained in CLT manual, but I can not locate this cmd in "iw-home/bin" OR in "iw-home/httpd/iw-bin" OR in "iw-home\iw-perl\bin". Please suggest, where is this clt located. I searched for this file using OS search, but it did not return any results. If this CLT is not available, what can I use in place of this clt ?

The proper sequence would be for someone that is already master to add you to the system. Adding yourself via a modification of tsusers.xml is always a little weird, because there's some caching around that file. Typically, you'd want to execute an "iwreset" after changing that file to force a cache refresh.

A few other notes:

iwadduser is deprecated. Use iwuseradm add-user instead.
Don't set master role via normal role commands (iwadduser/iwaccess). Use "iwuseradm set-master [username] true"
I have found that in some versions of teamsite, the CLT still doesn't reflect master-ness properly and sometimes having another master uncheck and re-enable your master-ness through the UI fixes any weird situations

Almost all CLTs documented in the PDF are located in Interwoven/TeamSite/bin. The few others are in Interwoven/TeamSite/private/bin and Interwoven/Search/bin.

CMD runs fine. Again when I go to TS UI user profile for myself, I dont see "Master" option checked.

I dont see "New Branch" option OR I can not add users to teamSite.

I did run iwreset, but still I am not getting Master rights here. Please give me an idea, whats wrong.

Get in touch with someone from your team who already has "master" access and ask him/her to update your profile through TS UI to grant you master access.
