Silent Import - Emails with long To or CC
pennyg
Hi, we are doing a silent import of emails using the IMANEXTLIB.ImportCmd with OpenCmd.NoCmdUI. Files import as expected until we hit an email with more than 90 characters in the To or CC fields at which time the New Profile screen is displayed and SAVE must be clicked - no other user intervention is required.
Does anyone know how to force ImportCmd to truncate the email address details in c13alias etc. on its own without user intervention?
We have only seen this behavior since moving to 8.5 which populates these fields on an import.

Would it not be easier to just truncate it yourselves?

Thanks for the idea but the problem is the .msg files are sitting in a local directory and being imported to iManage, they are not coming from an open Outlook connection.
The import command is reading the information from the .msg file not from anything we are doing and therefore we do not know what the to/cc/bc details are and have nothing to truncate. If we were to take control of this information it would mean creating an mail object to read each item which is a serious overhead when importing bulk emails (over 150,000 in this run).
When using import command on an 8.2 client it doesn't bring in to/cc/bc details and we would then use msgfix to update the details but as mentioned 8.5 is different and appears to be obtaining this information from the .msg itself hence the profile popup box.
