TeamSIte server 7.4.1 version on Linux is not starting after updating the license key.

We installed TS and the UI came up and it asked for licence key. We generated key from support and updated and restarted the TS server but it is not starting it.

Please let me know what may be the issue. I generated the license key with the help of tslicinfo command line info taken from TS server.

It does not look like the install completed successfully:

I assume you are root when you try to start this, can you look at the permissions of /opt/Autonomy/TeamSite/bin/iwserver.linux

The installer will set it for execute for root. If it is not set to root, then your install is questionable.

You may want to try running it as root, just to see if there is another issue. It may be that you are missing a shared library as well.

Looks like your user didn't have access to restart the service. Perhaps you should be using sudo on those restart commands.

we login as root and restarted the server. We also rebooted the linux machine and restarted the TS server.

Then we generated the key and placed under etc folder and restarted the server it is not starting at all.

From your iwtrace.log, it should be fairly obvious...

First you had

which is self-explanatory, and then someone apparently attempted to alter the hostname by editing the TS.lic directly, which resulted in this:

I don't recall offhand the command to ask TeamSite what the license values should be, but you can ask OpenDeploy via the following (adjust paths as required):

Well I can see that today you tried starting as root and it still said permission denied, so there's something strange going on. Did you try restarting the server? There's evidence that some of the processes were already running and didn't shut down. Aside from that, did the perms change recently, in particular concerning the iw-store? Is it possible you ran out of disk space to the point where TS can no longer mount the store?

I don't believe the license file could have caused this, but I guess just make sure it didn't get mangled with a different character encoding or some other weirdness that could cause the iwserver to crash when trying to read it.

If none of that helps, you're probably going to have to talk with Support.

We restarted the linux box but without stopping TS server. Once Linux box is up we stopped and started the TS server but the errors are getting and server is not starting.

I suspect your install failed and no one niticed.

If that is the case after installation we are able to login to TS UI using root user and also we integrated LDAP server and added some users through LDAP server. We also try to login with other users and successfully login.

After placing TS license and we updated hostname in license key and it got messed up. We also generated new license key but it does'nt help us.

It doesn't hurt to check. Who knows, maybe someone changed those perms by accident at some point in time in between.
