Is it possible to pick DCR from a different branch through filedal

Hi All,

My requirement is to pick DCRs from a global branch through some of my components.

The components are available in more than one sites under different branches.

So can it be possible to fetch DCRs from global branch and use them in a different branch through FileDal.

No, it isn't. The FileDal is rooted in the current workarea on the authoring side.

I often have similar requirements and the only solution I've found is to use Spring to load different implementations of a custom DAL-style object, where on the authoring side it uses the CSSDK and on the runtime side it uses the context root. This is a prime example of using customer-preview-resource-config.xml vs. customer-runtime-resource-config.xml.
