Teamsite License using IP address

Can you generate a license for TS using the IP address instead of the MAC address. We have 2 W2K servers with "team"ed nic cards. Occasionally when we reboot these boxes, the TS service fails to start and generates a invalid license file error message. I was at the past Chicago user group meeting and I was told you can use the IP address of the box instead of the MAC address.

Is this even possible? Does anybody have a good idea on how to accomplish this since the web site that generates licenses specifically asks for the MAC address?

The license key for TeamSIte is generated using the MAC address by default. We do provide an alternate mechanism of using the IP address, but this change needs to be handled by IWOV technical support. You will want to ask for a domain-locked key.


We understand the requirement to support multiple NICs. This is something that is planned for a future release.
