I'll attempt a guess that an OOTB component isn't rendering images when you expect it to, and instead rendering the alt text? If so, it means your images can't be resolved at the given path. Inspect using Chrome or Firebug to see what the computed image paths are, and then doublecheck the config of your iwproxy and the client webserver you (should) have on port 81.
