Media Bin 8.1 Web Client issues

Hi,

I am new to media bin and have installled media bin asset server 8.1 on windows 2012 server.

The installation of the asset server is successful and then I installed the media bin web client on the server successfully. I am able to login to the web client and from the administration menu, I created a new task for uploading an asset. The upload asset option is displayed at the right top corner and when I clicked on the newly created upload task, I am getting error which says "Error unable to instantiate object".

I am not sure what the error is and there is nothing in the MBP.log.

This "Unable Instantiate Action" comes up if the MBFTP and Staging folders are not shared properly.

Make sure MBFTP and Staging folders are configured properly for MB Server service account. These two folders should have read and write permissions under Sharing and Security tabs of these folder properties.

Check the IIS Application Pool identity if you are still getting the same error even with above permissions on the shared folders. You can set the AppPool identity to same MB Server service account.

And these shared folders paths should be updated in Web.Config of MB WebServices If the paths are incorrect in Web.config.

I had already tried those things and it is working fine but I have a new issue

When I try to upload a file from the workflow I have created, I am able to browse the file but when I click "ok" it throws another error. I have attached the screen shot error2.png. Please help me on this

What is the java version on the client machine?

I have observed this when there is java 1.5 running on client's machine. In the upload window whether Add folder button is in enable mode?

"Error encountered. Unable to upload..." comes up if the file was not copied to Staging\Uploads\ share. This could be because of Sharing & Security permissions on Staging share. And also the IIS App Pool idenitity permissions to this share. Since you already checked the Staging share permissions, check the IIS App Pool indentity and change it to a domain account instead of network serivice.

Yes indeed, open a support case if this is still an issue. Something is definitely misconfigured here and is evident by the fact that some options are missing from your upload dialog.
