Issue with callout

when I added MetadataCGI to the DCT, it does not parse.

I am unable to find anything wrong in here. Same code works fine in another DCT. I have just copied this item and using in new DCT. If I take this item out, DCT parses fine.

Please let me know, whats wrong in here ?

In the DCT that works, what DTD are you using? You use datacapture6.0.dtd in this example.

type="cgi" is not valid per the DTD, but it was valid in the 5.0 DTD.

You can validate the DCT with iwxml_validate

What is the type of the new DCT in templating.cfg? If it is "iwov", try changing it to "xml".

Other than cgi you can use gif, html, jpeg etc. Also try not using the type attribute.

How do I use iwxml_validate ? Where is iwxml_validate.pl located in TS741 ?

It is documented in the Forms Publisher Developers guide,

iwxml_validate.ipl
Validates a list of XML files against a DTD (and can also check to see if the XML files are
well-formed).
Usage:
iwxml_validate.ipl [-max_errors n] [-d level] [-well] x.xml [y.xml [...]]
iwxml_validate.ipl -h |-v
-max_errors n
Displays maximum of n errors before quitting XML validation on the current file. The default is to report all errors. -d level
Sets debug verbosity level (where level is 0-3); the default debug verbosity level is 2.
Debug Level Displays
0 Nothing
1 A terse message on failure
2 Parsing warnings and failures
3 Messages on success and failure -well
Checks to see if XML is well-formed, but does not validate.

Displays this usage information.

Displays this command's version number.

No clue what DTD you used, but it is not in the 6.0 DTD:

Regardless, you do not need it. If you have a URL, it assumes a CGI. BTW, your URL is blank, how do you expect a CGI to be kicked off?

My question was not proper. I wanted to ask, where is iwxml_validate is located in TS741 ?

Now that is a good question. I just ran locate on my 732 server and it didn't show up.

It is listed in the 71 manual, so it is supposed ot be supported. May want to lob a support call.

Sorry. My mistake. type="cgi" is not supported in datacapture6.0.dtd

But when I take out type="cgi", it still does not parse.

Where is iwxml_validate located ? Ichecked in iw-home/bin, iw-home/iw-perl/bin, iw-home/httpd/bin and I did file search on entire iw-home. But can not find this file.

I am working on POC environment on client site. I dont have access to support.

iwxml_validate was last documented in the 7.1 CLT manual -- and it is now documented in the 7.5 CLT manual (so if they removed it, it looks like they put it back - at least in the documentation [still downloading 7.5...])

I would imagine that it lives in IWHOME/bin - though not on my 7.4.0 Windows installation...

Am I not providing path properly here ? When I am providing path to DCT, why is it complaining about datacapture6.0.dtd. This dtd is available in "iw-home\local\config"

Since this DCT is working without any error, why am I still getting an exception ? I dont understand, on what line does this exception occur ? Please let me know, how to use this tool

Sigh.

#1 - you could probably copy the datacapture6.0.dtd into the directory where the DCT lives, or as you did into IWHOME/bin (I'd prefer the former so as to not be mucking around in the latter)

#2 - I ran into this some time ago and ended up modifying the datacapture6.0.dtd because it contains some syntactic errors. Since you have the copy already, work with Google and/or an XML validator (that can validate a DTD) to fix the errors in the copy. If I recall correctly there are two, or maybe three syntactic errors in the DTD that gets shipped; they never worried about it because they don't actually use the DTD - it's more of a reference file.

I'm not sure about the "java.util.PropertyResourceBundle" error - though that might go away if you fix the syntactic issues in the DTD (?)
