UrlExternal Task not working

Hi All,

I installed newly 7.3 and started working on WFM.

For sample I started writing url extenal task where configurations and validations are correct.

But while running workflow at that url task is getting struck and in iwtrace.log, I find the below error.

please help me with any suggestions.

[Mon May 13 16:28:55 2013] Could not run http:///iw-cc/urlexternaltask for task 5315; retrying in 1 minute
[Mon May 13 16:29:18 2013] TWFTChoice:endURLCommand: Error opening socket!
sockErr=107, Unknown socket error

I'm assuming the iw_server value there is actually correct in your log file, and was removed when you posted this? If not, there's yer problem

Try manually going to http://localhost/iw-cc/urlexternaltask?taskid=5315 from an RDP session to the server itself, and see what happens. Even if your task craps, there's no reason for it not to be able to open a socket.. but accessing this yourself will tell you whether it's a "client" problem or a "server" problem. The latter is more likely (meaning you'll get a similar timeout or request failed problem through a browser), and that either means your server is taxed or something went horribly wrong during JBoss initialization. If you're lucky, you might get a stack trace in your browser.

If, however, you can successfully call your task this way, then it was a "client" problem, meaning a Java thread was unable to open an outbound socket. That means you've either got security/firewall/port/IPv6 issues, or something very weird is going on.
