Entering content in DCr

Is it possible to enter content in a dcr apart from invoking a dct? Does a user always have to create/edit a dcr to enter content? I mean like some way to transfer data say from a doc file onto a dcr without invoking the dcr screen? Some script or inline call or something?

The reason for posting this question is often the content to be written may be passed as documents thru mails. Since the editor in the dcr does not have facilities like spell check etc, which Word has, it is convienient to use Word. Now the data has to be entered into the dcr - one way is to copy-paste, is there any other way?

Hi,

you can achieve this by executing a perl script which reads the doc file & generates an xml file (the dcr). Once file created, set the extended attributes.

In fact this doesn't have to be perl that reads the files, can be anything.. You just need to create the XML file however you want, then you must set the extended attributes.
