UI Customization of the existing functionality

vivek_cms

Hi,

I want to customize and override the delete link functionality under File menu.

When an user selects a folder or multiple folders and clicks on delete in the menu, then the below steps to be included prior to deletion,

Case 1: If the folder contains any files, then it should show an error message saying that the folder contains files.
Case 2: If folder doesn't contains any files then it should delete that paricular folder.

Please reply with the list of steps that i should follow to implement the above functionality.

Thanks,
Vivek

List of steps:

Hire a TeamSite consultant

Thanks for your kind reply. However I can able to do some research and implement this functionality in CCPro instead of hiring a TS Consultant.

Thanks
Vivek

What you asked is for someone to tell you how to do it. If you read the UI Customization Guide, you should gather enough information to figure out how to do it yourself. Or try something and if it doesn't work then ask for help. But coming in here asking for someone to simply tell you how to do it is not going to get you much. Make an effort, otherwise hire someone to do it for you and teach you along the way.

Thanks for the reply. I will study that guide and make an effort. I am a new to Teamsite so only posted the requirement. Let me try some customization and will post again if I get any issues.

Thanks,
Vivek

Smitty was his usual abrupt self (must be that time of the month ;-)

Yes - read the UICG - but one of the things that you'll find there (if you read it carefully enough) is that you cannot modify an OOTB menu item. You need to remove the OOTB menu item and insert your own custom menu item.

Well you weren't here so I figured I needed to step in and share my joy. I really don't see how what you said is much different than what I said. Smiley Tongue

Except for the part about "you can't do it".
