Is it possible to do character based events on my Datacapture template text box?

Hi All,

TeamSite Form API supports 'OnChangeItem' event on datacapture template items. But I want to perform character based events( that means if user types characters for each character I want to perform some operation through javascript) on my datacapture text box.

Is there any way to do this or to write any custom javascript functions that take care of these character based events?

You have to write the raw javascript code to do that since FormAPI does not provide that level of granularity.

The part ghoti didn't mention is that these changes are unsupported, meaning it's up to you to understand what you're doing and how/why it works so you are then suitably equipped to support it afterwards. There's a few threads on these forums that may shed some light, but I would urge you to play around with it rather than copy+pasting a code sample.
