Search UI - Enhancement

I am currently working on TeamSite 7.2.1. I have a requirement to add the guidance(Description) for each field in the Search UI. ( Please find the attached for details)

Can anyone provide me the details.

I don't know if that's actually something that's "supported" - because, unlike similar such fields in DCTs, Metadata Capture, etc. - you don't actually have access to the configuration file used for the Search form.

You can take a look at IWHOME/local/config/lib/content_center/customer_src/etc/conf/customer/search_custom.xml - but I believe that's only for providing custom values for drop-down lists and not for manipulating the actual fields themselves.

My guess is that (a) you should file a feature request with Support and (b) [since that probably won't get done anytime soon] consider the trade-off between -i- deferring the requirement until some unspecified future time when the vendor supplies the interface for doing it and -ii- hacking code in a completely unsupported manner such that any problems you have in the future with Search will probably not be dealt with by Support (and perhaps even problems with other parts of the TS UI, as they won't know what all you modified and thus defensively suspect that any problems you have are due to your customizations).

I'd opt for (a) and (b-i) - the gain is too small for the risk IMO.
Instead, consider checking the Help contents, and if those aren't good enough, look into customizing the Help content (which is supported) to provide the desired guidance rather than hacking the code.
