argument to inline ipl

I have a requirement to pass a sentence as an argument to the inline command. Something like
inline command="/opt/iw-home/iwcustom/www/bin/templating/xyz.ipl comment Smiley Very Happy

is is not working"
But in the ipl, it automatically trims all spaces and take the value of 'comment' argument as only 'Dis'. Of course I can add some random character and replace in the ipl but is there a better way to go.

Double quote your parameter AND html-escape your double-quotes to not break the xml!

Don't think so. May be you can use a "_" as a separator between the words..

Another solution would be to use a .txt file for your comments and pass this file as an argument. Then read this file from your ipl.

Giving double quotes and escaping is not working. I am currently giving a wild character and replacing it in the ipl. its working now. but just looking for a better approach. Thanks

Try XML "quot" Entity. Like this:
(Btw, that's what Ronald probably meant by "HTML Escaping")

<inline command="/whatever/xyz.ipl "comment:Tom and Jerry""/>

This *may* also work:

<inline command='/whatever/xyz.ipl "comment:Tom and Jerry"'/>

That's incorrect. TS strictly controls what inline's execution thread inherits. It sets very few Environment
Variables there, IW_DCT, IW_USER and couple more. The rest is discarded, including even PATH.
