copying contentstore from TeamSite6.7.2 to 7.3.1 gives error

Hi, I have done the fresh installation of TeamSite7.3.1 in Linux RedHat5.0. After the installation everything was working fine.

Then I copied the existing dev contentstore (TeamSite6.7.2 SP2) to the new TS7.3.1 after stopping the iw.server.

After moving the contentstore the persmission was set recurrsively to iwts (group and the user). Both the source and the target servers have the same users and groups with the same UIDs.

When I try to start iw.server I am getting the following error:

What process did you follow to copy the content store? Did you inactivate the store before copying and what was the name of the store or stores you copied?

That error does not seem content store related but you never know....

What OS was the original server running ?

You should not have needed to change permissions, if you copied it correctly they should have been OK.

Does TS start correctly with the default store ?

If so, add a second store in iw.cfg and then try to mount it with iwstoreadm. That will avoid problems like this and may give better information.

Also did you copy over /iw-store or /iw-store/default ? It should only have been the latter, you can copy anything you need for the iwadmin branch as a spar or tar file

mv /data/iw-store /data/iw-store731
mv /data/iw-store672 /data/iw-store
/etc/init.d/iw.server start

I noticed that the TeamSite 7.3.1 has a folder called 'configuration' on each branch to store the roles. The old 6.7.2 contentstore doesn't have such folder. I thought the error is due to missing of the 'configuration' folder.

That will not work. You cannot move the complete iw-store, only iw-store/default

Add it as a second store and then make it the primary when it is up and running.

Turn off the TeamSite service on the hosts (Y:\ should not be present).
Copy the content store folder (in our case \iw-store) from the old host to the new host).
Rename the folder to whatever is expected on the new host (was also \iw-store in our case).
Start up TeamSite.

In our case everything came over as expected: files, version history, file locks/modifications, jobs in progress, roles etc.

I also copied over the tsusers.xml, tsgroups.xml and roles.xml to the new server. In truth, I copied these over before the content store, though I'm not sure if that is necessary to have them in place before bringing the new content store online.

When you do that you lose all the OOTB components updated for 7.3.1 as well as the workflows. This is a *really* bad idea. Do not replace the admin store, only replace the default store. Manually migrate changes you need on the admin store.

Are you sure you stopped all the Interwoven services?
Are you sure you're using an account with sufficient privileges to muck around with the iw-store folder?
