SPAR creates new version of components even though they are the same

Hello,
I'm using SPARs to migrate component between environments.
When installing these components, existing components are being versioned even though the component has not changed (not the date or the contents).
Is there any way to avoid the new version being created even though no change has been made?

Not in any OOTB manner.

Your only recourse is to rename your 'components' folder to something else that iwov doesn't look for, and then customize the post-install perl script inside your spar to do the diff and optionally update the component.
