Preview is Not Working

Hi ,

I am facing preview issue for one the site . The manifest file is not only created for preview. While previewing , the screen is showing Blank . We have checked the permission of users and everything is proper.

We have deleted some manifest file also , but still issue is persist.

Please some one advice .

There was a bug back in the 6.X time where the preview files could get submitted and then would not get overwritten.

You can change the number of preview files in iw.cfg

We are using teamsite 6.7.2 version .

Also , earlier we were getting the preview properly for the site . But now suddenly , preview stopped working. We had tried below steps but no luck

1. Increase the preview history to 20 from 10.

2. Checked all the configuration which are reffering for preview.

3. Checked the user permission too

Do you want us to chnge the values to 100.

What OS?

Open a shell and remove all the zz_tst.... files in the templatedata folder.

Then submit any deletes.

Does it work in any case? Other users ? Other branches?

Has anything changed recently? User access or the IIS user and TS preview user ?

We are using OS Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition , service Pack 2.

In other branch , preview is working fine. We have not changes anything with respect to the sites and configurations and access

On checking the logs , we can see the below errors:

Were you able to resolve this issue?

I have installed Teamsite freshly, but it showed error that "not able to create group Teamsite web preview".

Please find the attached for rererence. I checked on the server, mentioned group is already created, and user is also added to group.

I could login to Teamsite, but when I try to preview any image, or text file it shows a blank page.

I checked the content_center.log, it is showing below error.

Go into IIS manager, make sure the Default Web Site is set to port 81, make sure you have a virtual mount called "iw-mount" that points to Y:/, and reset the account creditials for anonymous access to the IWTMP_DomainName user that the installer created. The password will be in the installer.log.

Thank you Rick for your input.

I checked for Default Web Site. http was showing on port 80. I edited the binding to port 81.

I could see iw-mount under TeamSiteSitePubPreview that points to Y:

But, I could not find any reference to IWTMP_ username. I tried to search in the log file also, pdf as well.

Could not find any reference.

Can you guide me to any pdf or where to change this access setting for this user?

Hi Rick,
I tried to configure the IIS trough post reboot script. There I got an error. Then I checked in the tspostreboot.log. I got following error. Any idea which script it is faling to find?

Hi All,

There was an issue with file_encoding.cfg file. Repalced the file from another server and now able to preview the files in Teamsite.

But, currently facing another issue. Everything seems to be working good on the server directly.

On the server we are able to access with http://localhost/iw-cc url.
But, when I tried with http://server-ip/iw-cc, it is not resolving to the Teamsite application. Tried with http as well as https.

Any idea where this could be fixed?

You probably need to configure (or disable) the windows firewall, although there could be other reasons.

Yes Rick. You are correct again. I checked with network firewall team and they said no issue. Port is not blocked. Finally it was windows firewall which was causing issue.

We are facing the same issue with the following error message in content_center.log

2016-10-24 10:29:27,677 [default task-297] ERROR com.interwoven.ui.base.impl.command.CommandHandler () - forward "iw.vpreview.handle_image" not handled by descriptor iw.vpreview.delegate_handler

Checked the iw-home/local/config/file_encoding.cfg, some how is overwritten with some other contents, updated the file to ootb file_encoding.cfg.example and did a iwreset -a.

Now the preview is working fine.
