HTTP Status 500 error while trying to open DCR's

Hi there,
i dont frequently face this issue, but at times on rare occassions, when i try to edit DCR's it give this error at the top on the DCR where DCR name usually appear.

The error is :

HTTP Status 500.

i am also attaching a screen capture of this error. We are running TeamSite 7.2.1 on Windows 2003 Server.

Any help would be greatly appreciated !!!

You need to find a stack trace to post here. Either use firebug to inspect the contents of that frame and get the stack trace from there, or try to find it in your server logs.

I couldnt find any relavent info in the server logs and couldnt do a stack trace. But firebug looks like an option.

Today monrning when i logged all seems to be working fine. May be i need to wait...

Since you are on Windows, also check the events log, make sure that your iw-webd is running. Also check jboss is running for your 7.2.1 or tomcat is running for your 6.7.2.

All of that is obviously running. Only one of the DCR's six Frames returns Application Error.
Whatever the problem is, it is much more subtle than JBoss not running.

SIX Frames ? Never heard anyone using it nor i knew what it is. I tried to count but could get to only 5 frames Smiley Wink

top.frames[0] = "datacapture_buttonframe"
top.frames[1] = "formframe"
top.frames[2] = "datacapture_scratch"
top.frames[3] = "api"
top.frames[4] = "api_scratch"
top.frames[5] = "api_internal_scratch"

Forms Publisher Engine uses them all when you manipulate a DCR, whether you are aware of that or not.
"datacapture_buttonframe" and "formframe" Frames are the ones exposed via DCR GUI. "api" Frame contains
FormAPI Components, including your own (a handler to this frame is what you actually get from the
getScriptFrame Call)

Sure enough, none of this is documented or for that matter needed for day-to-day development.
