Impersonation through template

Is it possible to run a system command (a CLT) in a presentation template during page generation as some other user (system)? This is to avoid some of the permission issues.

painfully yes. You need to use iwperl tags and execute a shell script that is set UID to the user you want.

Google "perl taint" - read it carefully, and then - if you have any decent kind of computer / network security team in your organization - forget it, because they probably won't let you do it.

Instead you either need to fix the permissions to allow access to everyone who needs to access it, or change the process so that it is always run completely as 'system' (or 'root') and you lose any indication of who (joe user) actually was responsible for the command having been run.
