iframe inside TinyMCE

hello

i am trying to add iframe inside tinymce at Teamsite level(through DCR), but its not accepting iframe tag im using TeamSite 7.3.
i well know we need to add,

tinymce.init({
..........
extended_valid_elements : "iframe[src|width|height|name|align]",
......
});

above code in my normal scenario through html.

can anyone help me out where the config file or any .js related file for tinymce is placed?

Hello,

Here is the path:

[iw-home]\httpd\iw\tinymce\jscripts\tiny_mce

and file name is "tiny_mce_src".

i found the path, but where i should add iframe support code. thats bit confusing me, also i checked out with editing config/custom_config.js but its not effecting to teamsite.

do you have any alternative solution to change the Version

Contrary to Naveed's suggestion, do not edit the tinymce source code. That's asking for trouble like you can't imagine.

/http/iw/tinymce/config/custom_config.js controls the TinyMCE config values for use in FormsPub. You must then connect your DCT fields to the config instance you created.

...../livesite_customer_src/etc/conf/livesite_customer/resources/customer-teamsite-resource-config.xml is where you would configure TinyMCE in SitePub. See the SitePub Dev guide.

Disclaimer: this will prevent the cleanup subroutine from stripping out iframe tags, but that doesn't mean the editor will work particularly well with it there. That's kinda outside the bounds of what wysiwyg editors are meant for.

it says that we can add some of the attributes over textarea tag nd we can modify for /config/custom_config.js file

Can we get any alternative way to solve out my problem.

I don't even know what your problem is yet. You didn't even say whether you're looking for SitePub or FormsPub.

You see that part where I said "read the SitePub dev guide"? There's kind of a whole appendix section dedicated to explaining this.

Hope you have found a solution to the issue by now. It'll be great if you can share as we are facing same issue and we are not really looking forward to changing any config file unless it is the last option.

Just want to understand the requirement here...

1. Are you trying to add an 'iframe' icon to the menu? If so, you need to add a plugin.

2. Are you trying to add configurations for iframe to tincy mce init? If so, you need to modify the custom_config.js for the custom tiny mce.

@jay i tried with altering that config file but its not reflecting.

1. In normal case under Teamsite; inside the tynimce the iframe tag is supporting or not.

2. If its not supporting it mean how to add that or where to add that its not a supperate button or option in side the editor. i need to put a iframe inside the tynimce, and it should reflect to our pages.

I need to kw about point 1. my current version is not supporing this.

Hi There,

I am not sure if your tiny MCE pakage came with iframe plugin, if so, all you need is to add extended valid elements in the custom_config.js file

Example: IWTinyMCECustomConfig("<yourcustomtinymce>", "extended_valid_elements", "iframe[src|width|height|frameborder|scrolling");

If you no plugin for iframe, you may have to download the plugin and use the above in the custom_config.js.

I tried out by adding :
IWTinyMCECustomConfig"", "extended_valid_elements", "frame[src|width|height|frameborder|scrolling");

but i am not able to pickup.

and im not tried by adding plugin, if suppose the downloaded plugin where i want to paste? what modification need to change in config files.

Hi There,

You will have to download the iframe plugin into the plugin folder of tiny mce.

/iw-home/TeamSite/httpd/iw/tinymce/jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins
