How to change ownership of a branch

I have created a new group, DEVELOPERS, in TS741 using admin UI. this group does not exist at OS level.

I want to change ownership of a branch of which I am owner to this group.

When I click on owner link, a windows pops up, with my name in it. I replace my name with DEVELOPERS and click on "find", this group can not be found. For that reason, I can not find an existing in the users window.

How can I add this group as an owner of branch ? If its not an OS level group, does it mean this group can not be found in TS ? If its not so, then group is not found ?

Only users can be the owner of a branch; not groups. However, you can assign roles to groups on that branch, or share workareas with groups.

In most cases, branch ownership doesn't actually matter because Administrators will have the required permissions to edit anything around it. For this reason, I typically have all my branches owned by a service account.

However when you create a branch on the commandline, you can assign group ownership (this is not available in the GUI). Like Rick, I am uncertain what group ownership of a branch really means:

I want to grant a user access to all the content on a branch.

I added this user on a branch and granted him Administrator and editor roles, but he can not modify datacapture.cfg in workareas of this branch. (When a user is granted two roles on a branch, will the role with lesser privileges be effective ?)

So I added user to DEVELOPERS group and tried to make this group owner of branch, but that did not work

Should not user have access to content when he is granted administrator role on a branch ?

So hoiw can I grant this user acces to all workareas and files in a branch ?

Secondly, if I create a group in teamSite and this group does not exist in OS, what are limitations on teamsite group ?

It is likely a basic permissions issue. Check the permissions of the file and what group this person belongs to.

Likely you are not using submit.cfg (or using it correctly) so the permissions and ownership may be incorrect.

Administrator role should be more than enough

Make the user a member of the workarea group, and then verify perms on specific files/folders as needed.

That it can only be used within the content store. That's pretty much it.

I got acces issue figured out somehow.

When I am trying to add a member to a group, I can not do it from Admin UI. I could do that only from CCPro.

There was no option to add user to the group , when I tried to edit group in Admin UI

Is that the way it is OR am I missing something in here ? Logically, i should be able to add users to the group fron Admin UI.

The AdminUI should allow you to manage teamsite group memberships as well. Are you getting errors or are you not finding that option?
