Getting all DCR XML from TeamSite

I require all the DCR XMLs of a branch on local system.

Can I just download it ? OR is there some kind of export function to get all DCRs ?

These DCR XMLs will be modified on local system manually (Its some kind of test we are undergoing)

File-Download ..do you see that option.?

It downloads all files in your local directory,path as you specify. under IWTemp

That download can take care of files of one workarea only.

I have to download from multiple branches. Do I need to go to every branch and WA for manual download ? Is there a way to download from multiple branches at the same time ?

Well..You can't download branches.Download happens only to files.So yes. You need to manually browse over each branch and WA files/folder and download.

If you want some kinda automation, then using CSSDK iterate over branches,copy each file to a new one in your local. It wont be an efficient process though comparing the effort needed manually.

I just tried this

On the server I copied , from Y: Drive, I copied "Retail" branch and pasted it on local machine. Now when i go inside this branch, I can see entire sub branches and workareas and details of branch.and DCR content in XML format.

If I can just copy like this from server, then why do I need anything else ? I can just copy and work on content.

How come such an operation is allowed ? I was thinking that Y: drive is just for viewing content and a user can not edit content from there. Actual dir structure is in , where tree structure its in encrypted form of e1, b2, d3 etc. So a user can not recognise what dir he is in, if he is going through dir structure on server. But it seems, a user can just go in Y drive and copy content from there.

Is this how TeamSite behavior is ? OR is this something that is usually not allowed. Where is the security of content in here, if user can access content on server, without any check.

That is normal behavior.

Typically you do not provide most people access to the server so they cannot get to the y drive. I use this on Unix all the time, as an Admin I have shell access to the server.

You can turn on branch security and workarea security to restrict access.
