SQL string creation failure

We're trying to pass a date from a jsp page to our datadeploy script.

Here's the attribute that we pass in the dbschema file:

Here's the output of the jsp page:

All the html has been stripped out. However when we try to deploy a file, we get this error message. (however pointing to a static html file with the same date format works.)

Not sure why the static html file works, but it doesn't mean it's right. The sample value you provided certainly does not conform to the specified date format, so the error makes sense. Have you tried changing the date-format attribute to match the data you're actually sending in?
