Search Optimization Advice Needed - MB 7.2

When using Quick Search in the RIA client, if logged in using the Admin account, results are returned very fast. When searching while logged in as other various user types, results are delayed significantly. I understand that there will be a difference (Admin account doesn’t have the folder restriction permissions to check) but right now, the results for other users are unacceptable and we are looking to improve it.

The folders are set up so that some are available to all users (Public) and others will be available only to specific groups (ex: All Employees and Customer Type1 have read access, everyone else no access). Folders also have different permission types (Read, List, Change, etc.) set based on type of files, who has access, etc.

By necessity, we have a large number of user groups (app. 100) and users may belong to multiple groups (see concept below).

Does anyone have any advice on the best way to apply permissions to the folders or other tweaks that will speed up search results? Any recommended reading?

• Employees-Location1
• Employees-Location2
• All Employees (contains all employees from location 1 and 2)
• CustomerType1
• CustomerType2
• All Customers (contains all customers from types 1 and 2)
• Vendor1
• Vendor2
• All Vendors (contains all vendors from 1 and 2)
• Public

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

You can try adding the "ContainerSecurityCache" to MBSettings table on the database and see if it makes any improvement.
