Accessrights table in Mediabin to get user details

Hi,

I tried getting the userlist of mediabin users. Contacted support team and they informed that the user at first logon is stored in a temp database called accessrights.

I could see accessrights table is in iwmbassets database. is that the right one?

However the output of it doesnt look good

All I wanted was USERID of all Mediabin users.

I use the view 'ReportUserLogins'.

yeah, but problem is ReportUserLogins view has 8lakh + records having multiple datas of the same user with diferent login logout stamp.

Is there any table where I can get only the list of users associated with all the folders in mediabin?

Write a query to count or only grab the unique users by log in. Maybe even focus on the dates, like from Jan 2014 - Dec 2014?

I don't really want to assume why you need this information. Are you just looking to report on how many active users you have? How many have been specifically assigned permissions to a folder?

Active users could be pulled by the view I already gave, + a query statement.

To pull list of folder permissions, it is not easy. Would take joining multiple tables since it is defining users by their SID. You can look at tables 'AccessRights', 'Containers', and possibly 'Security'. If you are not familiar with joining or writing query statements, I suggest opening a support ticket or reaching out to HP Professional Services who could definitely help get what you need.

On a side note, for folders permissions, I would suggest (if possible) not to assign users directly to folders. Rather use groups; add the user to the group, then assign just the group to the folder. This makes for easier folder permissions administration.

I agree, support ticket already raised with them, and they suggested the accessrights table.

My main motive is to get the list of active mediabin users.

So, Goal is to get the list of users who have mediabin access.

However it is not useful with accessrights table.

If you use SQL database, you could do a query like this, which will tell you also how many times the user has logged in over the date range:

SELECT [user_name], Count(*) as TotalLogins
FROM [MediaBinRepository].[dbo].[ReportUserLogins](nolock)
WHERE login_start >= '2014-01-01'
AND login_start < '2014-12-31'
GROUP BY user_name
ORDER BY Count(*) DESC

Hi Thank you, we do use SQL

however doesnt want how many times a user has logged IN

But want all the user names logged in over a period of time with one occurance - dont want their multiple entries.

Ok, that statement should still work for you. Just don’t be concerned with the counting.

This is what I use to report on active users. Also, do same for users who actually downloaded an asset (just different view).

As you mentioned about the containers table, does it provide the list of user ids and their permissions for a specfic container?

It looks like it could, however you would need to join your query with I think the Security table, and possibly another to come back with the exact username. And then I am not sure you would get the username, or just the SID.

Maybe someone else with knowledgeable in MediaBin data tables (and usage) can jump in. Or you can get with HP Pro services for some pointers.
