Visual format editor is not properly rendering Multilingual content

Teamsite Version: Interwoven Teamsite 6.5.0 Service Pack 2

Editor Name: VisualFormat

Editor Version: 4.2.0.11

Issue Description:

The Visual format editor is not properly rendering content for the other languages expect English special characters like ç ,ã, à, é, É, í ,-. we could see some extra code gets added by the editor when we view in the editor mode and also while page generation.

I have mentioned in the below tabular column for each characters and its behavior rendering in the Brower and also the extra code gets appending while generating by the editor.

For “-“ instead of giving the same character the mentioned code [–] should be used in-order to render properly in all the browers		â€“

I'm not sure of the solution for your problem - but I'd strongly recommend that you work on transitioning your DCTs to use TinyMCE (and then make sure the problem doesn't occur there) - as VFE support was dropped from TeamSite a while ago - and you would have to go through the issue of converting to TinyMCE before you upgrade TeamSite eventually.

Besides the fact that your version of TS has been EOL for years. I suspect it supports IE6 and FF 4 as browsers. Have you upgraded your desktop browsers ?
