LiveSite url rewrite filter

I have a requirement to handle multiple URLs by one SitePublisher page.

I've read a few threads on here mentioning tuckey URLRewriteFilter. So I installed that to one of my LiveSite runtimes by putting the JAR file in WEB-INF/lib folder under LSDS and then editing the WEB-INF/web.xml file to add in another filter.

I use the default filter mapping provided by Tuckey docs.

This mapping is above the default LiveSiteFilter entry.
I created a urlrewrite.xml alongside the web.xml and added a test rule.

I restarted the service and it seems to work as expected.

Is anyone aware of any potential issues with adding a filter like this, will it cause any problem with existing LiveSite filtering?

Like any customization, the number of potential issues is infinite. It depends on what you're doing and how you're doing it. But the tuckey filter CAN successfully work hand-in-hand with LiveSite, yes.

One thing to watch out for, given your particular mapping, is that your tuckey filter applies to every single URL coming to LiveSite. If you have a large number of rewrite rules, this can affect the performance of your entire implementation, so just try to be more specific whenever possible.

You didn't indicate how many URLs you want to send to the same page nor the rules for the URLs.

If the number is "a few" and the URLs are well defined (no wild cards) you can, using the site's sitemap, assign multiple aliases to the same SitePublisher page. We have done this on a number of occasions.
