Teamsite files automatically rolled back, how to find the rootcause

Hi,

As reported by my client there were edited files in Teamsite which got rolled back automatically, is there a way to find out why did it happen and how did it happen.

Are there any logs which details about edited files getting rolled back?

What does that even mean? How can you expect someone to help with a problem when you describe it in extremely general terms?

I am sorry about that, but this is the only information given to me by my client and they want the back the data which is lost an want to know the rootcause why it did happen.

They edited a lot of pages in sites folder and all there changes are gone.

Today i came to know that the files were not even submitted to staging, so as far as i know there is no way to get such files back which are edited or created and not submitted to staging.

However, just wanted to be very sure of that.

There are several ways this could happen. If there are multiple workareas and someone did a Get Latest in that workarea, that would explain it. You can certainly look in the event log to see what happened, but good luck with that. People should back up their work or there needs to be some training involved to ensure something like that doesn't happen. Even with training, mistakes happen. If the changes were in the workarea and the user did not have those files saved anywhere else, and you don't do regular snapshots of your backing store, they are SOL.
