Looking for guidance on a SitePublisher and tinymce issue

Greetings all,

I am hoping for some guidance on how to resolve a tinymce issue that I am having with SitePublisher. Here is the background:

I was on TeamSite/LiveSite version 7.2.x using Solaris. I built a brand new instance of TeamSite/LiveSite version 7.4 (first installing 7.3 and then upgrading to 7.4) on Linux RH VM. Once I got the clean install of TeamSite up and running, I copied the entire backing store file system from my 7.2 version to the 7.4 version (it was only around 40 gig). I have worked through all of the configuration/bugs and now my TS 7.4 version is up and working great. I can preview, edit, etc... just like a normal operating version. The only thing that is not working is the ability to use in-context editing ability to edit existing content in SitePublisher. I have tracked the problem down to know what the issue is, but I am just not able to put the pieces together and get it resolved, which is why I am asking for some guidance on where to look.

I have the problem narrowed down to what appears to be a tinymce issue. When I use Firebug to troubleshoot, I notice that I get a "TypeError: this.tinyMCE is null" message (see attached screen shot). I have already copied over all of the config files and plugin folders under the /httpd/iw/tinymce folder from my 7.2 to 7.4 version. I am out of ideas on where to look and was hoping that someone can help point me in the right direction.

I have reviewed every devnet post related to tincyMCE, as well as looked through all of the documentation on both 7.3 and 7.4. The documentation gives some general usage, but I was not able to find anything specific about using customized tinyMCE toolbars in SitePublisher. Additionally, I have looked in every log file on the server and there is absolutely nothing that gets generated. Again, if anyone would be able to point me in the right direction on where to look, specific page(s) in the documentation that I may have missed, or anything else...the help would be greatly appreciated.

It happens on both FireFox and IE. Chrome does not work at all with SitePublisher and I don't have Safari.

What version of FF or IE ?
Not certain if I have a 7.4 system to test on, I have never seen that with either 732 or 741

I have tried it in IE version 8, 9, and 10. As for FF, I am running 26.

I will be honest in that the new upgraded version of tinymce that was bundled with TS 7.3 (7.4) was not well tested. Almost everyone of my issues has been related to the upgrade of tinymce to a newer version.

When you say you copied the entire backing store - do you mean you copied the iwadmin store over?
If so - that's not recommended as there are files within the iwadmin store that are version-specific and you would have removed / overwritten the 7.4 files with 7.2 files -- not good.
