use TinyMCE4 in TS 7.4.1

Currently TS 7.4.1 use TinyMCE3, we find there is a new version TinyMCE4 in TinyMCE web site.
Can I download this new version and replace the old one in TS?

You can't replace the TinyMCE (v3.1.2) embedded in forms and sitepub. You *can* however (formspub only) create read-only textareas with a callout to a custom screen that has whatever editor you want it in. Obv there's effort associated with that and it's not the most user-friendly experience.

Supposedly, TS v8 will allow you to substitute whatever RTE you want, but they're not there yet.

I recently upgraded the default 3.1.2 version to 3.4.0. There were some minor customizations that IWOV made in editor_plugin_src.js that I copied over. But all went well. I didn't want to go to 4.x because of the different UI -- I'm sure it's possible though.

I choose 3.4.0 as it was a minor upgrade which solved the IE10 issues we were experiencing (e.g. parentElement() not found).

I'm baffled as to why IWOV can't just upgrade to 3.5.x. The TinyMCE editor has remained unchanged for years.

To clarify, by "can't" I meant "can't in a manner that doesn't void support pertaining to this feature or anything downstream from it".

I'm curious as to what you had to change in editor_plugin_src.js?

I've just recently replaced the default TinyMCE 3.1.2 with 3.5.10 and all I had to do was copy the "iw*" plugins across and it seems to work fine.

I just want to ensure I've not missed something.
