Sample Scheduler IPL not invoking deployment task

We have customized scheduler.ipl for invoking opendeploy task for moving files.

It is not working and not able to get any error.

my $deployCommand = "C:/Interwoven/OpenDeployNG/bin/iwodschedadd.bat ";

setting other parameters

$deployCommand .= "$deploymentname $dpl_params -s $number".$units;

`$dplCommand`;

We are using TeamSite 7.3.2 on windows 2008 R2 server

Getting following error

The syntax of the command is incorrect.

I suggest modifying your code as follows:

my $deployCommand = qq(C:/Interwoven/OpenDeployNG/bin/iwodcmd schedadd $deploymnetname $dpl_params -s $number$units);
my $results = qx($deployCommand 2>&1);
my $status = $? >> 8;
if ($status) {
  die "[$status] $deployCommand\n$results\n";  # or log to file, etc.}

iwodcmd is a binary program, which should run from your script; iwodschedadd.ipl is a Perl script that may require being prefaced by the full path to iwperl because the shell associations don't necessarily apply when the script is invoked from within another script (iwodcmd is also more efficient as it uses the already existing JVM of the OpenDepoy server, whereas iwodschedadd.ipl has to initiate a new shell to invoke a new JVM)

Always capture the output from the command (both STDOUT and STDERR) so that you can report everything if something goes wrong.

But your error implies that something thinks OD is running on 3434

Run this command from a shell:

iwodcmd serverstatus

Following are output. I am able to telnet 3434 port and it's opening.

Also, checked deploy.cfg for following settings.

Deploy.cltProxyEnable: y
Deploy.cltProxyPort: 3434
Deploy.cltProxyHost: localhost
Deploy.cltProxyAllowedHost: localhost
Deploy.cltProxyAuthCheck: y

Have you tried restarting the OpenDeploy service (e.g.: net stop iwodserver ; net start iwodserver)?

It's possible that the server is in a bad state for some reason.

Do that, then run iwodcmd serverstatus to see if that works.

The RMI should bot be running on 3434, looks like someone messed up the install.

You could try to fix it by changing it in OpenDeployNG/etc/deploy.cfg it is, by default 9173

Deploy.rmiServerPort: 9173

It may be messed up elsewhere as well. So a reinstall is likely warranted, but you can try to fix.

This is the expected output from iwodserverstatus

iwodserverstatus
OpenDeploy server host: localhost, RMI registry port: 9173
OpenDeploy server is alive.
0 deployments are currently active.

iwodcmd should provide the same:

iwodcmd serverstatus
OpenDeploy server is alive.
0 deployments are currently active.

As I wrote before, something thinks that OD is listening to port 3434. That is wrong. It is listening on 9173

Someone messed up the install or changed a config file incorrectly. You can either try to find it, or reinstall it.

We have changed port to 13434 number into deployment.cfg and restarted OpenDeploy service.

It's working and we are getting following issue, when command is invoke from workflow external perl file.

Deploy Command Final - C:/Interwoven/OpenDeployNG/bin/iwodcmd schedadd xyz -k "wk_area=/default/main/XYZ/STAGING" -s 1m

Deploy results Final - ***ERROR - Error adding schedule for deployment 'odintranet'. REQUEST_DENIED

We have already provide od-admin access to user and it's not working even with master user.

What version of OD?

What version of Windows?

Have you looked carefully at both the ODHOME/od.log and ODHOME/log/hostname_odbase.log for further information?

When you run the deployment through workflow on windows, the deployment is executed using "SYSTEM" user.

Assign the od-admin role to the SYSTEM user and then execute the workflow.

After giving access to SYSTEM user as od-admin

getting following error.

2015-04-24 12:46:16.377 GMT+0530 serverLog [RMI TCP Connection(1664)-XX.XX.X.XX] - API: Can not find user NT AUTHORITY\HOSTNAME$ in any OpenDeploy roles . Request app: APP_ODRMICLT

It got resolved with giving access to user "NT AUTHORITY\HOSTNAME$".
