Cannot Deploy site using PLC after Branch Rename

What is a recommended practise ? renaming a branch or re-creating it ?

I am getting the following error after a branch has been renamed.

Not that I've ever tried renaming sitepub branches.. but the default.site for each site within the branch has a record to the branch's vpath, and that could be the killer. If you open the default.site and "pretend" to make a change (i.e. just click edit on something, then save without actually changing the value), then this pointer gets refreshed. Might help, might not..

Which version of TeamSite? In un-patched 7.2.1 systems, there is a problem with the internal dependency management database. A branch rename (and other rename/deletion activities) do not update the internal database correctly. The PLC workflow task that attaches dependencies is looking for a file that is in the old branch name.

If you turn on com.interwoven debugging, you can probably spot the suspect missing source file, however, given that the branch is now gone (renamed), you cannot just re-create the file.

Contact support for guidance. Installing the latest patch level should fix new occurrences, but may not necessarily update the dependency database to fix your specific problem.
