TinyMCE many many
tags
Ian_x_harris
Hi,
We're currently upgrading from TS 6.7.2 to 7.3.1 which means saying a "fond" farewell to the VFE.
While trying to migrate our DCTs to TinyMCE I'm hitting a nasty issue with existing DRCs (authored using the VFE). When the DCR opens I get lots of
tags in the textarea.
These
tags aren't in the actual DCR although they do end up there if you save it as you'd expect. If you delete them from the element, save and close and then reopen the file the
tags reappear. So it seems to be something that TinyMCE is doing.
Has anyone seen this before/have a solution?
Best Regards
Ian

TinyMCE authors HTML and only HTML. Thus, the only way to separate blocks of texts into paragraphs is either to use
or wrap the blocks in
tags (whitespace, including line breaks, is irrelevant). It uses BR by default, but you can switch it to use P tags via the TinyMCE config.
See force_p_newlines @

If your previous content relied on line breaks rather than HTML tags, you'll have to use the presentation layer to s/tags/\n/g;
