Mystery site assets created with new site (created from existing site)

I'm curious to see if anyone else has seen this or knows what's happening (FYI: TS v7.3.2)...

I have an existing site with 1530 pages. When I created a new site 'from the existing one' the process finished with the message "Finished creating 5215 site assets". Is this just bad math, or were there really over 3600 'hidden' assets created somewhere?

Note: this is not a local rendition of a master site - I'm using the following process to create a simple site 'from' another (so only the site folders and .pages should be created):

File > New Site
Site type = "Independent Site"
Create from = [select existing site with 1530 pages]
After creation process complete, message diaplays "Finished creating 5215 site assets"
Select new site and View > Modified Files = 1532 items (all pages + default.site/default.sitemap)
I checked the resources files and there's no new shared files (CSS, JS, etc.), and no new DCRs under /templatedata either

So... any ideas? Is it safe to ignore the message and continue creating sites this way, or could I be missing something important that may affect things down the line?

Just guessing - but I suppose it is possible that it counts the shared resources in the branch (images, JS, CSS, etc) when coming up with that number... However, you should probably contact Support and see what they say (and let us know)

It also localizes any dependencies of those pages, meaning static assets like images, and DCRs. If you localized to es_US for example, then you'll now have an es_US folder at the root of your workarea, and a en_US subfolder for all your DCR types.

You typically want to avoid this, at least for static assets. You can do this by using the Actions > Manage Localization to set localizable=false on those items, or you can script it by setting EA G11N/Localizable=false.

Thanks for the replies. Since I'm just creating a new Independent site and NOT localizing, then there are no additional copies of resources or DCRs created anywhere, so yeah - I will attempt to follow up with support.
