WATERMARK/PLACEHOLDER IN DCT

Hi,

 

I've made a DCT which contains textarea, textfields, browse etc.

Here whenever a user make a New Form Entry I want to inform the User about the textfield and textarea

length like (MAX 100 characters allowed).

I have already added this in description but I am thinking to use something similar to a placeholder or watermark.

Is there any technique or something which I can use in my DCT siimilar to a placeholder or watermark ?

Does DCT supports a placeholder or watermark ?

Any Other Suggestions ?

I assume you are using a pre-7.4.0 version of TeamSite, or are using 7.4 (or higher) and didn't realize that changes were made to the datacapture6.0.dtd and the way description elements are rendered there.

 

The 7.4 version of TeamSite provides for both inline description text - rendered as read-only text below (or above? cannot remember right now) the element - instead of that badly managed javascript pop-up when you hover over the "(?)" - and - it provides for a hinttext subelement for text and textarea fields, that allows for essentially what you are asking for.

If you are using a pre-7.4 version of TeamSite, well then you're kind of SOL until you upgrade (which would be a good thing to do becase that version is, or will soon be, unsupported)
