Adding custom meta tag to DCT

Hi All,

I am trying to apply jQuery datepicker to my DCT and its working fine in Chrome and Firefox but on IE the DCT is getting rendered in IE10 compatibilty mode with document mode = IE5 Quirks because of which jQuery is not working at all.

I have searched for solutions and came up with one that if I can update my meta tag to: [html]<meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=edge" /> [/html]

The IE will render the DCT in standard doument mode.

Is there any way to update the meta tag to above mentioned attribute?

Have you tried adjusting the compliancy settings in IE so that intranet sites do not run in compliancy mode? (Tools > View Compliancy Settings or something like that)

Yes I have tried that also but in that case the menus like File, Edit, View , Action etc are also not working i.e the drop down is not getting generated.

FYI my Teamsite version is: 7.3.1.0.0

By default its rendering my page in Browser Mode IE10 and Document Mode IE5 Quirks. If I manually set my Document mode to Standards then jQuery is working fine from IE7 onwards.

I Have asked the same question in Stackoverflow also and got the following reply:

Potentially you can modify edit_dcr.jsp and add it into the head. Potential locations are iw-home\httpd\webapps\content_center\ccpro\formspub for windows and Interwoven/ApplicationContainer/server/default/deploy/iw-cc.war/ccpro/formspub for linux.

But my seniors are suggesting that we should not make any changes to common files like edit_dr.jsp because it may affect other templates also

Perhaps your seniors should consider that 7.3.1 only supports up to IE-8 and that your use of IE-10 is a mistake that should be corrected by either:

Failing that, you're bound to run into issues one way or another and you just have to learn to work around them.

The only way that I can think of to affect the change you're talking about would be to modify part of the product - which "your seniors" don't want - and which you really don't want either if it means invalidating your Support contract.

You should probably contact Support to see if they'll provide you with a supported way to do it - but as I said, you're using an unsupported browser for that particular version of TeamSite and so they're likely to just say "it isn't supported".

I suggest you try down-grading your browser to IE-8 and see if that works without any need for modification on your part. If it does - that's the short-term answer. If it doesn't - you have a stronger leg to stand on with HP Support.

The jQuery calendar supports IE8 (provided you're using v1.9 and not 2.0) so long as you can force a standards mode. There aren't too many calendars still around that work well in quirks mode, and presumably OP is using the calendar in a DCT without realizing that altering the doctype/metatags is not an option.

But yeah, we just use an ancient quirks-friendly calendar implementation and called it a day.
