How to access version copies of a file?

I've created a DCR(templatedata/global/Versions/data/v_check.xml) out of a templatedata/global/Versions/datacapture.cfg

I've modified v_check.xml three times, also created corresponding versions.

When i download I'll get the latest version file. Perfectly fine.
when I revert to second version, it will reload the xml to content of second version.
With curiosity, wanted to know where all the version-ed files will get saved?
Is there any possibility to see/ access those version-ed files from UNIX box at least?

You can download the versioned files from the EDITIONs accessing the edition number, you can do either thru GUI or command line :

/default/main/client1/EDITION/#2448/templatedata

To fill in some of the blanks here - if you run iwrlog on the file in question, it will show you the versions and what edition they are in. If the edition is a named edition, you will see it if you list the contents of the EDITION directory. If the files were just submitted and not published into an edition, the submit operation creates "hidden" editions - which you won't be able to see by listing the contents of the EDITION directory - but, if you know the edition number, you can access it as described by reji_kv above.

Yes iwmigrate "replays" all the historical events - so it maintains all the versions, dates of the versions, submit comments, named editions, hidden editions, etc. between the "start-edition" (usually "INITIAL") and the "end-edition" (usually un-bounded to get the latest versions).

Unfortunately, the way it does this replay of history causes significant "redundant data" to get created within the backing store, which is why you should always run iwfsshrink after you've performed an iwmigrate (the latter runs with the target store down, the former runs when the target store is up)
