How does size of the teamsite content store effect the teamsite performance.

Hi,

We are using Teamsite 7.1 on a Solaris 10 1/13 and Ram 64GB

The size of the content store is 1.6TB.

60 to 70 concurrent users work on teamsite.

We have observed that the size of the content store keeps on growing on our server and sometimes the teamsite server disk usage becomes 100%.

Is there any relation between the size of the content store and teamsite performance.

Please let me know the possible reasons and suggest best practises to improve the teamsite performance

Taking the admin course is a best practice.

You are on an old copy of TS. Normally I would suggest running iwfsshrink, however it was kind of buggy in 7.1 and it may cause more problems.

My advice, remove editions, archive branches to another store, and/or upgrade to a newer copy. Talk to support and see if iwfsshrink runs well on your server and then shrink the store.

Also - make sure that the partiton where you have located the backing store is not being shared for other heavy disk using purposes (like log files). I've seen a number of cases where the backing store was not on its own partition and temporary files and log files continued to fill up the disk space causing problems with TeamSite.

we are running iwfsshrink on a regular basis and that doesn't help much.

Also the iwstore is on a seperate partition and it not shared with anything else.

We are performing some tunning tasks and maintenance tasks.

All I wanted to know is whether the size of the store has any impact on the cpu usage, ram and disk usage and any other factors

Well, clearly the size of the store has an impact on disk usage.

I don't believe it should have any significant impact on CPU or RAM usage, though I'll defer on such subjects to anyone who knows otherwise.

If you want an official response to those questions though, you should open a case with Support.
