Question 2 - TeamSite Forms: Visible Form Field Instructions

I'm an interaction designer who is tasked with helping my client improve the user experince of their existing TeamSite implemenation. As an example, I'm working to improve the user-interface (UI) for some of the DCT forms that have been created.

I've put together a some UI Design Patterns that I'm hoping to achieve. While these UI patterns are conceptually simple, it seems they are difficult, if not impossible to achieve on the TeamSite platform.

Does anyone know if it is possible to:

Create a form layout where the instructions for the fields are displayed and placed below the input field. This would replace the information icons that are out of the box.

You will need to alter the JavaScript code that renders the DataCapture interface. This is based off TeamSite 7.3.1, but I assume the locations are the same for anything in the 7.x series.

Take a copy of:

• {ApplicationContainer}\server\default\deploy\iw-cc.war\datacapture\Abstractdatacapture.js
  
• {ApplicationContainer}\server\default\deploy\iw-cc.war\datacapture\dc_renderer.js
  
• And anything else you want to alter.
  

And drop them in {TeamSite}/local/config/lib/content_center/customer_src/web/datacapture/ folder.

Edit them as you want and then run "make_toolkit.ipl" to build the changes into TeamSite.

Note: TeamSite 6.7.2 had the "built" source files in {TeamSite}\httpd\webapps\content_center\datacapture\ folder instead of ApplicationContainer\...
