Putting jar files in Teamsite
Rathina
HI,
I have a external (3rd party) jar file,I have to use those classes which present in the jar file in my jsp page.I have put the jar file in c:\iw-home\servletd\lib\.
While executing the jsp page its gives an error like this.
----------------------------
Error: 500
Location: /iw/webdesk/myfolder/check.jsp
Internal Servlet Error:
java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: jcifs/smb/SmbFile.
--------------------------------
My understanding is the jar file is not in the classpath. If i set the classpath also its not taking.
if any thing has to be taken care for achive this in teamsite?.
Any configration has to be done to put this jar in the classpath?
Any suggestion please.
Thanks
Rathina

What is it that you are trying to do?..
What is this jsp page that you are creating?..
iw-home/servletd is used internally by teamsite and any changes to it wouldnt really be supported. Its pretty much use at your own risk.
Are you using servletd to virtualise, or are you trying to extend the TeamSite GUI?
or something else???

Actually what I am tring to do is,
I have a jsp page which will act like an GUI and get some information(like NT userid password doaminname) from the user. And i will have an 3rd party jar file which has some classes,if i pass the information(user entered) to the class it will give me some authenticated output.based on that i have to proceed in teamsite.
This is what i am trying to do.if there is any otherway to achieve this without disturbing the servletd.

the answer to your question depends on if you are using IWOV6 or not. if you are using IWOV 6 i can give you a longer answer that i believe is supported.
on TS5.5:
first, i recommend you install a seperate servlet engine for your custom menu items. you can run it on a different port and use your own webapp. see the jakarta.apache.org site for tomcat which is an open source and very reliable servlet engine implementation.
if you really absolutely have to use servletd (on 5.5), this is completely unsupported, but you can try adding the jar to the WEB-INF/lib/ directory in the webapp you are adding the JSP to. note that if this happens to be an IWOV webapp, it is very possible that you will run into the following problems: upgrades and patches will blow away your changes, and/or your changes will upset the precompiled jsps and cause other problems in the UIs.
i urge you to upgrade to IWOV6 (or if you are on IWOV6, consult the developer documentation which describes the supported way of doing this), or, install your own servlet engine.
