CSSDK Extended Attribute values

I am trying to set Extended Attributes for a DCR based on values in a CSV file. I was looking at CSSDK api and it looks like there is a way to set EA's for DCR using CSSimpleFile.setExtendedAttributes method....

This works fine but I wanted to see if there is a way to get all the possible values for the Extended Attributes (the values I see in the Tag Screen for DCR ?). I would think there is a way to retrieve this through cssdk; but I am not able to find it in the javadoc.

Also I was looking at the way DCR EAs are displayed in Properties tab (for multi valued EAs)...

Teamsite/Metadata/MetaDataName=1(the array index of the value)

The value seems like its a number(array index) based on the value selected in the Tagging Screen.. I was wondering if I should set the EA as the value or the number thats displayed on the Properties tab ? Any suggestions would be helpful...

Whatever value you set in code must match the option values from your TagUI datacapture. It should never be the index of the option, unless that happens to match the option's value attribute.

Also in our case the Option value for the EA is infact the integer index of the value (multivalued).

Ah. You're right, the CSSDK won't help you there. To automate this, you'll probably have to write custom code to parse the TagUI config and datacapture XML, but only if you need it to match at all times. More often, your automation is only concerned with either what's already attached to the file, or a specific list. Obviously that's easier to code, so I guess I'm suggesting you just think about whether you actually need to go down the complicated path Smiley Wink
